Updated Measurments

What a lovely Monday! I opened my email to find updated measurements for Mia. She is 12 months old, has two teeth, and is healthy. She weighs 17.6 pounds, and is 25 inches tall.

Oh I cannot wait to see her in person!

Social Worker Came

Our new social worker came on Saturday. She was very nice and said she would have her part done at the beginning of the week. WOOHOO! I have started filling out the paperwork to renew our fingerprints. There is not a lot, just want to make sure I do it right.

Paperwork

I feel like I am making headway in some of this paperwork, finally. I just finished the packet for immigration that I had to fill out since Tim is not traveling. I was really avoiding it, but it really wasn't that bad.

Saturday the new social worker comes out. Her visit is so that we can renew our fingerprints with immigration. Getting closer, one stamp at a time! :)

Mia's Room

I have worked some more on Mia's room. I found that super cool shade at B*g Lots for $6, the black lamp base was on sale at T@rget. The little table in between the beds will be painted black. I also have some picture frames that look like flowers that I need to hang. The room was a catch all at Christmas, but I have slowly weeded it out. I wanted the room to grow with her, something not too baby. Who are we kidding? My kids usually sleep with Tim and me, and she is more than welcome when she gets home if she wants to.

Mia is 1!

Miss Mia turned one today. In her honor we made a sweet treat tonight. Next year she will be here and we will have a big ole time with cake, ice cream and presents.

Fundraiser

We are having a little fundraiser for Mia to help with the last leg of this adoption. On 1/17/10 at 2 I will be having a Premier Jewelry Party here at the house. Part of the profits from this party will be donated to our adoption fund. If jewelry is not your thing, part of the profit from Mary Kay Satin Hands Set or the Satin Lips Set will also be donated to the adoption fund. (The Premier Consultant also sells Mary Kay)

Please just keep our family and Mia in your prayers.

Making Progress

Since getting the travel info and trying to make heads or tails of it, I finally feel like I am going in the right direction. I had several docs notarized last week, and have started working on the power of attorney since Tim is not traveling. At first it felt like I was drowning, information overload--my eye has been twitching if that tells you anything. Now that it is broken into steps and levels of importance in my brain I am ok.

Our new social worker called today. She is coming out the 23rd to do a one page addendum. We need that to do our free renewal with immigration for our fingerprints. So hopefully that one page dealy won't take that long to type up and I can send everything on its merry way.
