USCIS update

I got a bit antsy waiting to hear something from USCIS, so I emailed them last night. I really did not expect a reply, but I actually got one this morning. They said they mailed me something on 1.21.09 about needing more evidence. I hope that it is something easy. Also I have heard that once we get that info to them they will issue our golden ticket (kind of like going to Hollywood on American Idol hehe) within a couple of weeks. So this is good news.

We have a name

As of right now we have decided on Mia Petersen. We both actually agree on it. If you are wondering, why not a C name? Well, Tim's daughter Megan has a M name, so it is cool that little sister has a M name too.

Name??

I have been doing some thinking on names for our daughter. So far Tim and I have really only agreed on Kyra (K ear uh) or Meya (Mee ya). Meya is a Japanese name that is similar to Mya, only the Japanese version looks like Miya. I thought Meya would leave little room for error. So what do you think of the names? These are no way set in stone. I do like the way Meya Petersen looks written out. (Her middle name will be her given Chinese name).Or how about Mia, rhymes with Kia? If you have other cool names please share.

Baby, it's cold outside!

Brrrrrrr. It is a whopping -37 below with the windchill here. Needless to say I wore my long johns. Very sexy mind you with this left over mommy pouch and birthin' hips! Don't worry, I put clothes on over the top of them, that would just be wrong walking around like that. I know I know this from the person that would walk around the house in a bra and shorts. But to my defense I was also 17 and waaaay skinnier. And it was Arkansas and it gets uber hot there.

Bundle up and stay warm.

Happy Birthday, Tim!

Today is my dear honey's birthday. He is 37, although he is still trying to hold onto 29. He wanted a cookie cake and butter pecan ice cream. Nothing but the best for him! :) I will post pictures after the festivities.

2009

Happy New Year!

I don't have any prolific words about the upcoming year. The only thing I think about is this time next year we should have our daughter home with us. That is exciting.

We do have a few winter bdays coming up; Tim in January and Carter in February. It is so hard to believe that Carter will be 6. I remember him being such a tiny tiny baby. He actually wore preemie clothes for about 1-2 months. Then he had his first surgery at 2 months to fix his diaphragmatic hernia. That was so very scary for me. Then in 2007 he had his cleft palate repaired. He marches to his own drum, that is for sure and we would not have it any other way. :)

Best wishes for a wonderful 2009!
